المدعي العام يرفض طلب انهاء عقوبة كوفونتينا
وشدد المدعي العام للمحكمة الجنائية لمياء المكونة من ثلاثة أعضاء ، على أن الحالة التي تكون فيها صحة ديميتريس كوفونتيناس هي من اختياره ، طالبًا رفض طلب البوليسوفيت بتأجيل أو تعليق عقوبته .
واضاف ان “القانون يشترط ان يعاني المعتقل من حالة دائمة ومزمنة وليس حالة مؤقتة. في هذه الحالة يوجد خلل خطير في أعضائه الحيوية يتمثل في اختيار المعتقل نفسه بوعي كامل. يوافق ويتقبل مضاعفات صحته. أيضًا ، لم يتم الوفاء بالشرط الآخر لهذا القانون الخاص بالمعاملة القاسية المفرطة.
يتم استمرار قضاء عقوبته في المستشفى، وقال المدعي العام بالمقر “حالما يوقف الإضراب عن الطعام ، سيحصل على رعاية طبية”.
