اعتقلت الشرطة في شمال اليونان خمسة أشخاص واحتجزت ما لا يقل عن 20 آخرين في أعقاب اشتباكات شارك فيها شبان تدعمهم جماعة سياسية يمينية متطرفة.
و دخل الشباب مدرسة ثانوية مهنية وألقوا قنابل البنزين والمشاعل والحجارة على تجمع منافس نظمته مجموعات طلابية جامعية يسارية ضد إصلاحات التعليم الحكومية.
ووقعت الاشتباكات يوم الأربعاء في ثيسالونيكي ، ثاني أكبر مدينة في اليونان ، حيث استخدمت الشرطة الغاز المسيل للدموع لتفريق المظاهرة العنيفة بينما كانت الدروس في المدرسة مستمرة. وكان جناح الشباب من جماعة الفجر الذهبي اليمينية المتطرفة قد أعرب في وقت سابق عن دعمه للمظاهرة المضادة.
