ردا على الكونغرس الأمريكي.. زوكربيرغ: فيسبوك لا يغلّب الربح المالي على السلامة
نفى الرئيس التنفيذي لفيسبوك أن يكون عملاق التواصل الاجتماعي يروج للحقد ويؤذي الأطفال ويحتاج لتنظيم مؤكدا أن الاتهامات الموجهة بتغليب الربح المالي على السلامة”بكل بساطة غير صحيحة”
وقال مارك زوكربيرغ، الرئيس التنفيذي لفيسبوك، في مذكرة طويلة إلى موظفيه نشرها على صفحته في فيسبوك إنّه “في صميم هذه الاتهامات تكمن فكرة أنّنا نغلّب الأرباح المالية على السلامة والراحة. بكل بساطة، هذا غير صحيح”.
وأضاف أن “الحجّة القائلة بأننا نروّج عمدا لمحتوى يجعل الناس غاصبين بهدف تحقيق ربح مادّي هي أمر غير منطقي بتاتا. نحن نجني المال من الإعلانات والمعلنون يبلغوننا باستمرار بأنهم لا يريدون أن تعرض إعلاناتهم بجانب أي محتوى ضارّ أو مثير للغضب”.
وتابع “لا أعرف أي شركة تكنولوجية تعمل على بناء منتجات تجعل الناس غاضبين أو مكتئبين. كلّ الحوافز الأخلاقية والتجارية والمنتجات تشير إلى الاتجاه المعاكس”.
وأتى موقف زوكربيرغ في ختام جلسة عقدتها لجنة في مجلس الشيوخ الأمريكي واستجوبت خلالها موظفة سابقة في فيسبوك سربت وثائق داخلية للشركة واتّهمت عملاق التواصل الاجتماعي بأنّه يغذّي الانقسامات ويؤذي الأطفال ويحتاج بشكل عاجل إلى التنظيم.
وأدلت فرانسيس هوغن بشهادتها في مبنى الكابيتول هيل بعدما سرّبت مجموعة من البحوث الداخلية إلى السلطات وإلى صحيفة وول ستريت جورنال تحذّر من أنّ فيسبوك قد يكون مضرّاً بالصحّة العقلية للمراهقين.
وتحدثت هوغن أمام أعضاء مجلس الشيوخ غداة مواجهة فيسبوك وتطبيقاته، واتساب وإنستغرام ومسنجر، عطلاً غير مسبوق استمر سبع ساعات تقريباً وأثّر على “مليارات المستخدمين”، وفقا لموقع “داون ديتيكتور” المتخصّص برصد أعطال الخدمات الرقمية.
