نقص في أحد الفيتامينات أثناء الحمل يهدد الأطفال باضطراب طيف التوحد
ارتبط نقص فيتامين D أثناء الحمل بزيادة خطر الإصابة باضطراب طيف التوحد في النسل بنسبة 44% مقارنة بالأمهات اللائي لديهن مستويات كافية من الفيتامين أثناء الحمل.
وأجريت الدراسة بالتعاون مع باحثين من جامعة توركو بفنلندا وجامعة كولومبيا بنيويورك. ويمكن أن يؤثر انخفاض تناول الأم لفيتامين Dأثناء الحمل على تطور التوحد لدى الطفل إلى جانب العوامل الوراثية، وتدخين الأم، وسن الوالدين عند الولادة، ومضاعفات الولادة.
وظلت النتيجة كما هي عندما أخذ الباحثون عوامل أخرى في الاعتبار مثل عمر الأم، والتدخين، وتاريخ الأمراض النفسية، وتعاطي المخدرات، وعمر الحمل وغيرها.
ويقول المؤلف الأول للدراسة، البروفيسور أندريه سوراندر من جامعة توركو في فنلندا: “النتائج مهمة للصحة العامة حيث يمكن الوقاية من نقص فيتامين D بسهولة”.
وأظهرت مجموعة البحث سابقا أن نقص فيتامين D يرتبط أيضا بزيادة خطر الإصابة باضطراب فرط الحركة ونقص الانتباه في النسل.
وجمعت عينات المصل قبل تقديم التوصية الوطنية لمكملات فيتامين D أثناء الحمل في فنلندا. وتنص التوصية الحالية للحوامل على تناول مكمل يومي من 10 ميكروغرامات من فيتامين D على مدار العام.
وتضمنت الدراسة 1558 حالة من اضطراب طيف التوحد وعددا متساويا من عينات للمقارنة ولدوا في فنلندا بين يناير 1987 وديسمبر 2004، وتمت متابعتهم جميعا حتى ديسمبر 2015. ونشرت النتائج في مجلة Biological Psychiatry.
